2023 Mattie Rose
2023 Mattie Rose
Description
VARIETALS. 61% Syrah, 35% Sangiovese & 4% Cinsault.VINEYARDS. The Syrah is from Cedar Lane in Monterey County, the Sangiovese is from Machado Creek in Morgan Hill, & the Cinsault is from Bechthold Vineyards in Lodi.
WINEMAKING. All three grape lots were pressed and barrel-fermented separately, with just enough skin contact to create the beautiful salmon luster. This wine is named after Owner Leslie Pantling's daughter - Mattie Rose.
"When I was 13 years old, Picchetti made its first rosé wine. My mother proudly named it after me, and it's been so fun making it year after year. I'm not always involved with the wine making process, but I do have the honor of choosing the final blend and color for each vintage of Mattie Rosé. It's one of our most popular wines, and I am truly proud and humble to see so many folks enjoying it on our grounds. My daughter, Cassidy Rose, will no doubt have her own wine someday too." - Mattie Rose Small
