WINEMAKING. This single-vineyard wine hails from Los Carneros, a region of Napa greatly influenced by cool marine-moderated temperatures with a geographic alchemy that creates ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir. The Truchard family is one of the Pinot Noir pioneers of the Carneros area and the vineyard is considered a California Heritage Landmark. Barrel-aged in French Oak (50% new barrels) for 12 months. A true expression of the Carneros terroir.
TASTING.
Aroma: An inviting, delicate perfume of citrus blossom, bitter orange and pomegranate emerges from the glass.
Palate: The mouth is sumptuously smooth, and delicate tannins provide a lingering finish of soft spice and bright red cherry, vanilla and sweet tobacco flavors.
FOOD PAIRING. Serve this versatile wine with a balsamic pear and gorgonzola salad, cedar plank roasted salmon, roasted duck breast, or a creamy mushroom truffle pasta.
