VARIETALS. 70% Malbec, 15% Merlot & 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
VINEYARDS. The Malbec is from Red Tail Vineyard, the Merlot is from Cedar Lane Vineyard, and the Cabernet Sauvignon is from Leslie’s Estate, Montebello.
WINEMAKING. Vino Di Vicino translates to “Wine of the Neighborhood” in Italian, and the neighborhood around the Picchetti Winery is home to some of the most unique and inspiring vineyards on the planet. This rich and complex wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels, 55% of which were new, for added depth and structure. The carefully crafted blend of Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon results in a wine with bold fruit flavors and elegant complexity.
TASTING
Aroma: Bold red fruit notes of black cherry, blackcurrant, and cassis mingle with hints of cedar, smoky bacon fat, and a touch of cigar box.
Palate: Rich and balanced with flavors of toasted cinnamon complementing the vibrant red fruits. Low to medium tannins make it approachable now, with excellent potential for aging over the next decade.
FOOD PAIRING. Perfectly grilled ribeye steak, rare A5 Wagyu filet, or a slow-roasted leg of lamb. Also pairs beautifully with duck confit or a charcuterie board featuring aged Manchego.
