Drop by the winery this month and sample our newly-released 2018 vintage Sauvignon Blanc. “Sauvignon” comes from the French word sauvage which means wild, and beneath the elegant veneer of this sassy white, you’ll discover a seductive playfulness that’s difficult to resist. Pale straw in color with slight green hues, it has a refined nose with enticing aromas of hibiscus, key lime and citrus curd. Penetrating flavors of lychee, gooseberry and honeydew melon form an intense core, and the mouthfeel is thirst-quenchingly dry with a fine textural line that lends vitality to the tasting experience. Pure, focused, and laced with a flinty minerality, the flavors carry through to a long, sustained finish. It is ready for immediate enjoyment, and will continue to develop through 2022. A “must pour” during warm weather, this wild child is the perfect match for any dish you would squeeze lemon onto (cold seafood platter, grilled halibut, roast vegetables, etc.). It’s also terrific with Gruyere or chèvre cheese, and anything cooked in garlic.
A cornucopia of tropical fruits!
