DescriptionRarely seen outside of its native Spain, this dark-skinned grape has been prized for centuries for the deep pigmentation, rich aroma and dense quality it contributes to the lush red blends of La Rioja. This small-production 100% Graciano (pronounced grah-see-AH-noh) is sourced from a certified sustainable vineyard located in southern San Joaquin County, where the vines thrive in a warm and arid climate similar to that found in the Iberian Mountains. It is moderately tannic, vividly colored and intensely perfumed, with concentrated aromas of mulberry, violets, licorice and chocolate. Layers of velvety, savory sensations luxuriate brazenly across a rich, fruit forward palate of wild blackberry, cassis and sun-dried cherry, and its vibrant acidity is beautifully tempered by 10-months of aging in a combination of French & American oak (33% new barrels), which impart distinctive notes of vanilla, nuts and spices. Enjoy this delicious medium-bodied wine with stuffed peppers, oily fish, aged cheeses and all your favorite Spanish tapas. Drink now through 2025.
