Leslie's Estate, Montebello
100% Montebello Chardonnay vine ripened to perfection, picked, pressed to tank and cold settled for 24 hours. The juice is then moved to French and American barrels and fermented until dry. Once the primary fermentation is complete, the wine goes through a full malolactic conversion process, and finally barrel-aged (50% new barrels) for 10-months.
Aroma: Brimming with luscious tropical aromas of tangerine, white nectarine, French vanilla, graham cracker and crème fraiche.
Palate: Delicately integrated flavors of blood orange and rum soaked trifle, round mouthfeel and that distinctive chalky minerality unique to the Montebello terroir.
This sophisticated wine will pair beautifully with east coast-style lobster rolls, triple cream brie cheese, rich seabass, a parmesan leek quiche, dungeness crab salad, grilled artichokes with lemon aioli, or a blood orange soufflé.
