2018 Syrah
Cedar Lane Vineyard, Arroyo Seco

WINEMAKING. Sourced from the fertile soils of Arroyo Seco, our 2018 vintage Syrah is a richly layered expression of this noble Northern Rhône varietal. We took great care to extract its natural, deep color and rich tannins through a slow and delicate fermentation, used a combination of French & American oak barrels (45% new) for aging, and then cellared the bottled wine for a further 16 months before release.

TASTING
Aroma: It is intensely aromatic, with layer upon layer of peppercorn, sage, licorice, and a hint of black olive to round out wild blueberry and preserved damson plum flavors.
Palate: Old World characteristics of leather and cigar tobacco meld into New World flavors of underbrush and forest berry.

FOOD PAIRING. Enjoy with smoked brisket, gouda cheese, or middle-eastern dishes such as chicken or beef shawarma, baba ganoush, za’atar, hummus and fresh pita.

2018 Grenache
Templeton District, Paso Robles.


WINEMAKING. Though seldom seen as a single varietal, Grenache is the backbone of the great Châteauneuf-du-Pape blends, and this limited-edition release is resplendent with that classic southern Rhône ripeness. Barrel-aged for 18 months in French oak (50% new barrels)

TASTING
Aroma: a rich and opulent red, its nose reveals multi-faceted aromas of dark fruit, blood orange and grapefruit, with spicier impressions of cinnamon, lavender and a hint of dried violets.
Palate: The entry is velvety and warm, the components on the palate are well-balanced with a tasty vein of acidity, and the complex aromatics return to grace a lengthy finish.

FOOD PAIRING. This versatile wine can be enjoyed on it’s own or with a myriad of dishes such as sautéed petrale sole in herb butter sauce, Époisses de bourgogne cheese, creamy au gratin potatoes, or Chinese five-spice chicken.
